Every chain we sell is solid 9ct or 18ct gold, never plated, never gold filled. Choose the link, choose the length, and wear it alone or build it into a piece with a pendant designed alongside our head jeweller.
Every link in every width, from the fine 2.0mm belcher to the heavy 5.40mm paperclip. All solid gold, made to your length, and ready to carry a pendant.

The same links, sized to the wrist. Wear the pair together, or start with the bracelet and grow into the set.

I bought the chain first, then we designed the pendant together for our anniversary. Now it never comes off.Georgia · Belcher Chain & Custom Pendant · Brisbane
A chain is the beginning of the piece, not the end of it. Add a diamond pendant from the collection, or sit down with our head jeweller and design one that exists nowhere else.

A solid gold chain outlives trends, which is why we treat it as a foundation. Start with the link you love, then add a pendant now or years from now: a diamond for an anniversary, a birthstone for a first child, an engraving only you understand.
Weight and drape are everything with a chain, and neither shows in a photo. Compare every link side by side at the atelier, with no deposit and no obligation.
Book Your VisitMost chains sold in Australia are gold-plated or gold filled, which is how they discolour and wear through within a few years. Every Orlaithea chain is real 9ct or 18ct gold through every link, never plated. Nearly all are drawn from solid wire, which carries real weight, takes daily wear for decades, and can be repaired, re-sized and re-finished for life. The one exception is the Calista rope, a hollow chain we offer for its feather light feel and its price, and its page says so plainly.
The belcher is Australia's favourite for a reason: round, even links that sit softly, suit every pendant, and read classic at any width. The paperclip is the modern one, long open links with an easy, layered look that carries a pendant beautifully on its own or stacked. The diamond cut anchor is the light-catcher: each mariner-style link is faceted by the cutting wheel, so the whole chain flickers as it moves, and the interlocked anchor structure makes it one of the strongest links you can wear daily. The flat curb long lies flush against the skin with a clean, elongated line, the most contemporary of the four and equally at home on its own or under a collar.
9ct is harder wearing and kinder to the budget, a practical choice for an everyday chain. 18ct carries a richer, warmer colour and matches the gold in our engagement and fine jewellery ranges, which matters if the chain will live next to other pieces. Both are solid through and through, and we will show you the two side by side before you choose.
For women, 45cm sits at the collarbone and suits most pendants, while 50cm drops just below and layers well. For men, 50cm to 55cm is the classic range. Because every chain is finished to order, we can make any length in between, and adjust it free at the workshop if you change your mind.
Every chain here is chosen with pendants in mind: soldered links, proper gauge, and clasps rated for the weight of a diamond drop. Add one from our necklace collection, or design a pendant with us from $950 and we will match it to your chain's link and gold. If you are building a matching set, the same links run as bracelets sized to the wrist.
Real gold, always, and never plated. Almost every chain we sell is solid 9ct or 18ct gold through every link, which is why it can be worn daily, repaired for life, and trusted to carry a diamond pendant. The single exception is the Calista rope, a hollow gold chain we offer for its light weight and price, and we label it clearly.
For everyday wear with a pendant, the diamond cut anchor and the flat curb are the strongest for their weight, with the belcher close behind. The honest answer depends on gauge: a well-made solid chain in any of our links will outlast a hollow chain of any type by decades.
Yes, that is the point. Many clients buy the chain first and return for a pendant at an anniversary or milestone. We keep a record of your chain's link and gauge so any future pendant, bought or bespoke, is matched to it exactly.
18ct contains 75 percent pure gold, with a richer colour and a softer feel. 9ct contains 37.5 percent, wears harder and costs less. Both are solid gold and both carry our lifetime warranty; the right choice depends on budget and what the chain will live alongside.
Yes. Every necklace link in the collection runs as a bracelet in the same gold and gauge, sized to your wrist. If you already own the chain, bring it in and we will match the set precisely.
