The pear is where the softness of a round meets the drama of a marquise: a rounded base tapering to a single point, cut with full brilliant faceting so it sparkles like the classic it descends from. On the hand it is one of the most flattering shapes we make, lengthening the finger while keeping a romance the sharper elongated cuts do not have. Most of our couples wear the point toward the fingertip, but there is no rule, and some of our favourite commissions wear it the other way or set it east-west.

A fine pear is a balancing act. The shoulders should curve evenly into the point, the rounded end should be full rather than flat, and the centre needs enough depth to keep the bow tie shadow away; every pear we set is an ideal cut chosen for all three, E or F colour, VS1 clarity or better, certified by IGI or GIA. The single point is always protected by a claw in our settings, and you will see your exact stone on video before it ships. Ratios between 1.45 and 1.60 are the sweet spot most of our clients land on.
