Pear lab-grown diamond engagement rings, hand-crafted in Brisbane

The pear is where the softness of a round meets the drama of a marquise: a rounded base tapering to a single point, cut with full brilliant faceting so it sparkles like the classic it descends from. On the hand it is one of the most flattering shapes we make, lengthening the finger while keeping a romance the sharper elongated cuts do not have. Most of our couples wear the point toward the fingertip, but there is no rule, and some of our favourite commissions wear it the other way or set it east-west.

A fine pear is a balancing act. The shoulders should curve evenly into the point, the rounded end should be full rather than flat, and the centre needs enough depth to keep the bow tie shadow away; every pear we set is an ideal cut chosen for all three, D or E colour, VS1 clarity or better, certified by IGI or GIA. The single point is always protected by a claw in our settings, and you will see your exact stone on video before it ships. Ratios between 1.45 and 1.60 are the sweet spot most of our clients land on.

Every ring on this page is hand-crafted to order at 150 Edward Street, Brisbane, and every price is the finished ring with its certified lab-grown diamond. The pear also happens to be the best shape in our toi et moi designs, so if you are dreaming of a two stone ring or a setting you have not seen here, design a custom pear ring with our head designer, or book a free consultation at the showroom.

Questions, answered

Which way should a pear shaped diamond point?

Traditionally the point faces the fingertip, which lengthens the finger, but there is no rule. Some of our favourite commissions wear the point toward the wrist or set the stone east-west. We will let you try both directions before deciding.

What length to width ratio should a pear engagement ring have?

Most of our couples choose between 1.45 and 1.60, full enough through the rounded end to feel soft while the taper does the lengthening. Shorter pears read rounder and sweeter; longer ones become dramatic.

Is the point of a pear diamond fragile?

The single point is the most delicate part of the stone, so every pear we set carries a protective claw over the tip as standard. Set this way, the pear is a durable everyday shape.
