The emerald cut does not sparkle the way a brilliant does, and that is the point. Its long, open step facets act like a hall of mirrors, producing broad flashes of white light instead of glitter. Because those wide facets are essentially windows into the stone, an emerald cut hides nothing. Clarity that would be invisible in a round becomes obvious here, which is why our VS1 minimum matters more on this page than anywhere else on the site. Every emerald cut we set is E or F colour, VS1 clarity or better, certified by IGI or GIA, and you will see your exact stone on video before we set it. Most of our couples choose a length to width ratio around 1.40 to 1.50, long enough to elongate the finger without losing the shape's signature symmetry.
